NOT TURKEY...Germany (Part 1)

I went TDY to Germany for an aircraft accident investigation class. I spent two weeks at Ramstein Air Base. I was there over 4th of July and they gave us four days off. I used that time wisely and went to a few places. First, was the Rhine River Cruise. The $127 spent was well worth it. It included a tour of the Rheinstein Castle, a boat ride down the Rhine River, lunch at a German Restaurant, wine tasting, and a ride on a sky ride.

A common barge on the river. Each one has a car/SUV on the back.

This is the wine and Christmas store we stopped at along the tour. We had some wine and brandy samples. Yummy. They also had a very nice selection of Cuckoo clocks.

Here comes our boat. We rode down the river for about 1 1/2 hrs.

Leaving the wine cellar that bears my initials...RRK. That was some tasty wine, but not quite enough. I had plenty of room for more.

Strolling through a beautiful small village. There were many neat restraurants throughout.
