NOT TURKEY...Germany (Part 2)

Still in Germany and on our four day break, Tech Sergeant Planten and I decided to find one the summer luge places that was published in the current base paper. We plugged the address into the GPS and set off. The GPS hadn't steered us wrong up to this point so we trusted it...even when we came to a dirt road. We took the dirt road for a few miles. It was actually kind of neat. It was a beautiful day out and we wound up driving through a forest. As we came out of the forest, we were in the middle of a wheat field. A little further and we made it to the luge. The only problem was we were supposed to arrive at the bottom of the hill, but we arrived at the top. We finally found the place. Let me tell you, we had a blast. I don't think you'll ever find one of these in the US because there don't appear to be enough safety measures taken. The chair doesn't have a seatbelt, but who needs safety when you're having fun. Once you get to the top, it's a huge 1,800 meter slide down to the bottom. Here's the link:

Some cool slides for the kids.

Here we go...

I spent the 4th of July evening at Ramstein AB. We had beer, brats, and saw Gary Sinise and the Lt Dan Band play. Ramstein is a large base and it was a little overcroweded, but it was still fun.
