NOT TURKEY...Germany (Part 4)

Okay, so I left Germany for Turkey. I worked a week and then off to Germany again. This time I went for a conference. I went to southern Germany and visited Neuschwanstein, Garmisch and Munich. First stop...Neuschwanstein Castle or "Cindarella's Castle" It was built o/a 1890.

The entrance. Once I got up close, the castle was much too big to snap a decent photo.

The nearby waterfall and bridge. The bridge is the best place to get a picture of the castle. There were so many people on the bridge I couldn't help but wonder...is there a max capacity on this thing? It held up long enough for me to take a couple pics. Whew!!

From the bridge

Me...smiling! Almost looks like I'm enjoying myself.

Beautiful view with lakes and another castle in between. It was absolutely breathtaking. These pictures don't do it justice.

Neat building in Neuschwanstein village

View of mountain on the way to Garmisch

Found another luge and had to give it a shot. Going up.

Edelweiss. This is the military resort in Garmisch. This is also where we stayed for the conference. There are two hang gliders in this picture. I promise.

City center in Garmisch

Neat cafe
On the last day of the conference, about 30 of us chartered a double decker bus from Garmisch to Munich for the evening. We had a great time.
Munich

We ate dinner at the world famous Hofbrahaus. This is the biggest restaurant I've ever been in. In fact, everything was big.
Big beer
English menu

Big pretzel

Inside a portion of the restaurant.
After dinner, TSgt Planten and I walked the streets of Munich. There was so much going on for a Thursday night. We came upon a wine tasting festival, bought a glass, and brought it with us around the city. We came upon this interesting lady. She was spouting something in German and had a crowd of people almost in a trance. It was quite amusing. I only wish I knew what she was saying.
This is one of the most impressive buildings I've ever seen. I'd sure like to see it again. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Dragon on the building

Me...feeling no pain and holding the piece of bread that broke my tooth. At least it was good bread.
All drunks aboard
A few drunks
What a great time. Did I ever mention I LOVE GERMANY!!!
